How to Prepare for Your MRI

  • NO PACEMAKER, ask if injury to eye, surgery eyes, ears or heart.

  • If there is a possibility for metal in the eye, an orbital
    x-ray must be performed first.

For Exams with Contrast:

  • Contrast is required for all exams looking for mass.

  • If patient has had spinal surgery, contrast is required.

  • Nothing to eat 2 hours prior to exam time.

  • No eye makeup if having an MRI of the brain.
